Birdwatching · Botany · Geography · Gastronomy
I am Rafa Mesa, a PhD in Geography and naturalist. I design and accompany routes where birdwatching is the common thread that unites Mediterranean botany, geography, and gastronomy.
Each outing is unique: adapted to your level, what you want to learn, and the season of the year. From sunrise at La Albufera to a botanical transect in inland Valencia.
The core of the experience. Sunrise in wetlands, raptors in inland ravines, passerines in the Mediterranean scrub. Each outing is designed according to the target species and the optimal viewing season.
Routes that combine the identification of Mediterranean flora with its traditional ethnobotanical uses. The plants that feed the birds, the ones that heal, the ones that give the territory its name. A reading of the landscape at ground level.
The territory is also read at the table. Routes that combine a reading of the geographical landscape with visits to local producers, markets, and seasonal cuisine. What flies above us eventually, in some way, ends up on the plate.
